Albuquerque, New Mexico (PRWEB) December 23, 2011

Futures for Children is pleased to announce the expansion of its Youth Leadership program to Cheyenne and Arapaho country. For the first time in almost 44 years ago, Futures for Children is working beyond its service area, and working with the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma.

The Youth Leadership Program is at the core of Futures for Children, an organization founded by Dr. Richard Saunders in 1968, to enhance the quality of the educational experience for American Indian children in Hopi, Navajo, Pueblo and Mescalero Apache communities in Arizona and New Mexico, and now with the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes in Oklahoma.

Teresa Dorsett, Education Executive Director of Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma stated, “I am committed and passionate about creating ideas and improving our education for our youth throughout Cheyenne and Arapaho country through the partnership with Futures for Children.” We welcome the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma to the Futures for Children family.

‘Tis the season to show our gratitude to our board of directors, project coaches and volunteers, students and their families, staff, and most of all, all donors/mentors from across the globe, who support our programs.

We wish everyone a wonderful holiday season, and a happy and healthy New Year!
