Mexican Caribbean Resorts Receive Three Travel Weekly Awards

The Mexican Caribbean tourism industry was internationally recognized when three Magellan Awards were granted to two resorts for quality and design and for their efforts in preserving the natural environment.
Travel Weekly, one of the most important travel magazines in the world, awarded Hacienda Tres Ríos Resort, Spa & Nature Park Riviera Maya and Sunset Royal Beach Resort, both of Sunset World Resorts & Vacation Experiences, these coveted awards which are given to the top tourism and travel companies.
Ecotourism complex Hacienda Tres Ríos Resort, Spa & Nature Park Riviera Maya received a Gold Magellan Award in the Green Hotel category for their efforts to preserve the natural environment and a Silver Magellan Award in the category of room design for their elegant, ample, modern suites. In 2010, the resort also earned these prestigious awards which demonstrate the company’s leadership in the tourism industry.
The direct result of a recent 8 million dollar remodeling project, the Sunset Royal Beach Resort was given the Gold Magellan Award in the category of Penthouse Design for its Premier Elite floors.
“The 2011 Magellan awards received entries from tourism companies from all over the world. Being selected for a Magellan is a huge accomplishment and it demonstrates a high level of excellence in the tourism industry,” said Kara Cleary, Director of the Travel Weekly Magellan Awards.
It should also be mentioned that Hacienda Tres Ríos Riviera Maya y Sunset Royal Beach Resort will be featured in this month’s Travel Weekly which will be dedicated to the winners of this exclusive award which was created to recognize the best in the tourism industry in the categories of hotels, tour operators, travel agencies, cruises, airlines, airports, and car rental companies, among others. The magazine has a circulation of more than 150,000 copies per week.
